Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 championships have been earned on hardcourt
A comeback the Russian player claimed his maiden championship for over two years with victory over Corentin Moutet in the competition championship match.
The Russian, a former world number one, has experienced a challenging year, achieving just one match at the major tournaments and suffering a difficult moment at the American major.
Medvedev's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his service game in specific - caused him falling of the top ten and eventually splitting with long-time trainer Gilles Cervara.
Now training with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently progressed in the past month - climaxing in a tightly fought competitive win over opponent Corentin Moutet.
It is the player's initial title after the Rome competition and first on a hardcourt after spring of 2023.
The win also means Medvedev has achieved twenty-one victories at twenty-one various tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a event with my two daughters simultaneously, so to win a title is really nice," commented world number 14 Medvedev.
"This championship is in dedication of my child her name, because the first title I won when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had been defeated in his past six title deciders, including in Halle earlier this year.
The player's counter-punching strategy and recurring reactions on the tennis court had led some to doubt if his ability to compete at the elite level was concluded.
Yet the 29-year-old has made changes in recent weeks, attempting to advance forward and compete positively, backed up by an improved service.
He came back from a deficit in the first set against the challenging opponent, taking 4 of the final five points to gain the advantage.
Both players exchanged service breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, bidding for his maiden tour victory, gained dominance to create a final set.
He rescued four initial chances in a competitive deciding set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to secure the win.
Fittingly, the winner secured victory with a rally at the net area, with Moutet failing to control a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
